Whedon brings his A-game in this fast-paced superhero mash-up

Joss Whedon brings his A-game in this fast-paced, high-action superhero mash-up. It was a wonderful blend of well-crafter characters, witty and believable dialogue, and thrilling action sequences. The screenplay features Whedon’s characteristic witty dialogue reminiscent of the casual banter in his cult-show¬†Firefly.

This superhero mash-up is a direct sequel to the other marvel universe films. It begins with Loki (Tom Hiddleston) steals the tesseract (an alien power source) and threatens to enslave Earth with his alien army. Clearly, the only course of action is for Nick Fury to assemble a team of well-known superheroes to save the day (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner).

Each superhero has his own fan following, so you can imagine the balancing act that Whedon has undertaken. Rather than focusing on one hero, we are presented with a team of equals, each struggling with their own demons (whether it’s Captain America trying to adjust to modern America or Thor struggling with guilt over his brother).

Superhero films have proven to be extremely entertaining (the good and the bad alike) so what could be more awesome than 6 superheroes in one movie?
